1/11/15: Christian Jamaican dancers went to England! Guest blog

I started this blog in February 2012 when I was privileged to be able to go to Jamaica for 6 weeks as a visiting scholar to the University of the West Indies.  Whilst there I worshiped at the Hope Gospel Assembly and met Omoro Griffiths, pictured above nearest to the camera, who led the dance group.  I saw them perform several times in church services.  They worked to the highest professional standards, and in a church setting brought a huge sense of worship and reflection.  As I was leaving I said that I would love to be able to get Omoro to the UK, and was delighted to hear that, through the Ascension Trust, they were able to visit in the summer of this year.  Alas, my own visit to the UK didn't coincide with theirs, but I was able to make a small contribution to their costs as Omoro kindly says below.  Really pleased that Omoro has written this account of their visit and sent me some pictures to be able to share with you.  Enjoy!

Today I take this opportunity to share about the dance mission I went on to England and Mr Geoff Tennant helped to make this possible by helping me financially and also kept me and the dance ministry in his prayer.

Our trip took us to Birmingham for a week and during our time there we went to several churches for ministry.  We also did street ministry by dancing on a mall called One Stop Mall and that was a blessing in itself.

Then we went to London for the remaining two weeks.  We ministered at several churches, sometimes two per day, with some great publicity alongside:

Our thanks to our Almighty God for His blessings on the trip, to the Ascension Trust for handling arrangements in the UK, the hosts who kindly took us into their homes and all those who supported us financially and in prayer.  My life will never be the same again after such a fantastic experience.  The Lord Jesus be praised!
